KDZA-FM is the modern FM-facing identity of the revived KDZA service, heard on 101.9 FM in Pueblo and 107.3 FM in Colorado Springs. The classic-hits service emphasizes live local personalities and music from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and later.
Revival in Pueblo
The historic KDZA call letters returned to Pueblo’s 1230 AM facility in 2023 after that station had spent three decades as KKPC. Mountain Radio Group relaunched the service as classic hits on May 18, 2023, branding it by its Pueblo FM translator as 101.9 KDZA. The station later opened studios at Pueblo Community College and restored a locally focused lineup led by longtime Pueblo personality Nick Donovan.
Expansion to Colorado Springs
On November 11, 2024, Mountain Radio Group changed KQSC 1530 AM and its 107.3 FM translator in Colorado Springs from “Mountain Country” to a simulcast of KDZA. The combined service became 101.9 & 107.3 KDZA, extending the revived brand across Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
Technical identity
The modern service is marketed primarily through its FM dial positions, but the licensed full-power stations retain the call signs KDZA on 1230 AM in Pueblo and KQSC on 1530 AM in Colorado Springs. The FM outlets are translators K270CM on 101.9 MHz in Pueblo and K294CH on 107.3 MHz in Colorado Springs. This archive entry documents the modern FM-branded KDZA service and is distinct from the former full-power KDZA-FM 107.9, which used that legal call sign from 1993 to 2018.
Current programming
As of October 2026, the published lineup includes Nick Donovan in mornings, Coba Hoban in middays, Charlie during the early afternoon, Kevin Hayes in afternoon drive, Wolfman Jack on Saturday evenings and Stretch on Sundays.
