Shannon Lukens is the news director for Steamboat Springs radio. If you wake up in Routt County and want to know about road conditions, council meetings or what’s happening on the mountain, hers is the newsroom behind a lot of what you hear on KEZZ-FM and the Steamboat Radio group.

News director for Steamboat’s stations

CU Boulder’s College of Media, Communication and Information describes her as the award-winning news director for all seven radio stations in Steamboat Springs. She hosts a daily radio presence, works as a sports announcer at events around Colorado, and is president of Lukens Mountain Media, a business that manages social media for clients.

Steamboat Radio on air and online

The Colorado Broadcasters Association (CBA) credits Shannon on KEZZ-FM from 2021 through 2025 for the station’s newscasts (Steamboat Radio News and later Northwest Colorado News), its website and its Facebook page. So the news you read on the Steamboat Radio site and the posts you see on its Facebook page are part of the same work you hear on the air.

This is a short page built from a university profile and CBA credits. If you worked with Shannon or have more to add, we’d love to hear from you.
