Terry West is a voice of the Heart of the Rockies Radio group in Salida and the Upper Arkansas Valley. If you’ve listened to the afternoon show on 92.3 The Peak (KVRH-FM), heard promos for 102.9 The Valley (KGKG), or woken up to mornings on Eagle Country (KBVC-FM) in Buena Vista, you’ve heard Terry’s work.

One group, four stations

Heart of the Rockies Radio is based in Salida, and Terry’s Colorado Broadcasters Association (CBA) credits run across its stations from 2019 to 2023. KVRH-FM is “92.3 The Peak,” a hot AC station. KWUZ-FM is “Hippie Radio 97.5,” the oldies station. KBVC is “Eagle Country” at 104.1 in Buena Vista, a country station that covers Chaffee County high school sports and local news. KGKG carries 1980s hits as “The Valley 102.9” on 1340 AM and an FM translator; the AM began on the air in 1948 as KVRH, the first station on the air in the Upper Arkansas Valley, and took the KGKG calls in 2017.

Afternoons, then mornings

From 2019 through 2021 the CBA credits Terry for Afternoons with Terry West on The Peak. By 2023 the credits show Eagle Country 104 Mornings with Terry West on KBVC, and a 2022 podcast called Daily Show 2 Go with Terry West. Terry’s name also turns up on promos and imaging for The Valley, on the group’s website, heartoftherockiesradio.com, and on community projects such as a Pet of the Week feature, a Drive-By Food Drive, a Great Pumpkin Giveaway and a holiday shopping expo with a Christmas cash giveaway. There’s also a podcast called Fantastic Realms, credited with Dave Haynes.
