Angela Cortez was a prominent afternoon personality on KIBT 96.1 The Beat in Colorado Springs during the 2010s.
Her KIBT show earned major statewide recognition. The Colorado Broadcasters Association’s 2011 Awards of Excellence named Cortez the Best Afternoon Show winner for KIBT and also Best Station Personality in the major-market radio division. The same awards named fellow KIBT personality Cheeba the Best Evening Show winner, providing a useful snapshot of The Beat’s on-air lineup during the period.
Cortez remained associated with KIBT later in the decade. Industry coverage in 2018 documented her continuing in afternoons on 96.1 The Beat while also handling airshifts for iHeart stations in Denver, Tucson, Austin and Las Vegas.
