Archer is a Denver classic-rock personality and Beatles historian best known as a founding “Mountain guide” at KQMT-FM (99.5 The Mountain).
99.5 The Mountain
Archer was part of The Mountain from its early years and became one of the station’s most popular personalities. He hosted mornings and the Sunday specialty program Breakfast with the Beatles, bringing decades of Beatles research and interviews to Denver listeners.
Archer’s expertise made him a source for national and international coverage of Beatles recordings. In 2004, when alleged “lost” Beatles tapes drew headlines, the Associated Press quoted him debunking the claims and described him as one of the world’s preeminent Beatles experts.
The Mountain ended its relationship with Archer in early 2008 as the station shifted toward a broader classic-rock presentation. Mike Casey and Robbie Knight assumed expanded airshifts after his departure.
