Fred Abernathy was a Pueblo radio programmer and newsman associated with KDZA 1230.
Programming and news
The 1966 Broadcasting Yearbook listed Abernathy as both program director and news director under KDZA founder Dee B. Crouch. His combined assignment placed him over the station’s entertainment programming and newsroom during the period following KDZA’s move toward rock-and-roll and Top 40.
The directory confirms Abernathy’s dual role in 1966 but does not establish his complete tenure.
