Jason McCollim was a senior iHeartMedia programmer whose Colorado tenure included oversight of the company’s Colorado Springs and Pueblo stations and direct programming responsibility for several important Southern Colorado brands.
In August 2015, iHeartMedia named McCollim Senior Vice President of Programming for Colorado Springs and Pueblo. He transferred from the company’s Spokane cluster, where he had programmed Classic Rock KKZX-FM and Newsradio KQNT 590 AM. McCollim had begun his iHeart/Clear Channel career at KKZX in Spokane in 2001 and later oversaw stations in Northern Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.
During his Southern Colorado tenure, McCollim became Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Denver Region while continuing to oversee programming in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. He also served as Program Director of KCCY. When KCCY APD/MD Brian Taylor departed in August 2018, afternoon host Shawn Patrick assumed APD duties and McCollim added KCCY Music Director responsibilities.
McCollim’s programming oversight extended across the cluster. In 2019, the Colorado Broadcasters Association recognized his 107.9 KBPI South imaging work with the major-market award for Best Station Imaging Campaign. iHeartMedia EEO records from the period also identify him as SVP Programming for the Colorado Springs-Pueblo station group.
In June 2020, after five years in the Colorado Springs-Pueblo role, McCollim transferred to Texas as Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Austin/San Antonio, overseeing 15 stations.
Southern Colorado roles: iHeartMedia Colorado Springs-Pueblo — SVP Programming; KCCY — Program Director/Music Director; regional programming oversight including the company’s Colorado Springs and Pueblo brands.
