Michael M. Galer was the owner of KDZA during the second half of the 1970s and played a key role in launching the station’s FM sister.
Broadcasting trade reports identified Galer as a Boston-area business writer, realtor and documentary-film producer when he purchased KDZA and its FM construction permit from Roger Brandt for $410,000 in 1975.
Under Galer’s ownership, the 100.7 FM facility signed on as KZLO in 1976. Contemporary directories list KDZA and KZLO together with Galer as general manager. He later pursued additional FM ownership opportunities before selling the Pueblo operation to Tony Spicola.
