Mike John was a radio executive who managed KCCY in Pueblo before moving to Sacramento in 1986. His career included management and sales work at stations in Maine and Vermont before his Colorado appointment.
John had been general manager of KCCY since 1978. In July 1986, Radio & Records reported that he had been named vice president and general manager of KDJQ, a Fuller-Jeffrey Group album-oriented rock station in Sacramento. The trade paper also recorded his earlier posts at WLOB in Portland, Maine; WCAX in Burlington, Vermont; and WTSA in Brattleboro, Vermont. His move marked the end of an eight-year KCCY management tenure.
