COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Pam Kenny

Pam Kenny was a Colorado radio executive whose career included leadership at KVOD, Denver’s longtime commercial classical station, during a period of major change in the city’s FM landscape.

By the early 1990s, industry records identify Kenny as president, general manager, station manager and sales director of KVOD 99.5 FM. The station occupied a distinctive place in Denver broadcasting as a full-time commercial classical outlet, serving an audience that differed sharply from the rock, contemporary and country formats competing elsewhere on the FM dial.

Kenny remained associated with KVOD as its frequency and ownership circumstances changed. A 1997 radio-industry directory listed her as general manager of KVOD on 92.5 FM, documenting her leadership through another chapter of the classical service’s complicated commercial history.

She later moved into management at KNRC, where contemporary reporting identified her as vice president of sales and noted her earlier executive work at Denver’s commercial-classical KVOD. Her career reflects the often less-visible management side of Colorado radio history—the executives responsible for maintaining distinctive formats while navigating ownership changes, frequency moves and an increasingly consolidated industry.
