Travis Daily is a veteran country-radio programmer whose Southern Colorado career became an important part of the competitive KKCS/KCCY era.
Daily first programmed country competitor KKCS 101.9. Around 2000 he left KKCS for Clear Channel’s classic-rock KMOM. Contemporary trade coverage subsequently documented another notable move: Daily crossed to former rival KCCY/Y96.9 as program director and music director, replacing Dave Moore. Clear Channel Colorado Springs OM Kevin Callahan simultaneously added oversight of the Pueblo cluster.
By 2002 Billboard Country Airplay Monitor listed Daily as KCCY PD/MD and highlighted the station among its airplay leaders; the publication showed KCCY with a 5.3 rating in Spring 2002. By November 2003 Radio & Records continued to list Daily as KCCY PD with Valerie John as music director. Daily ultimately served as operations manager for Clear Channel Southern Colorado and as KCCY program director and morning host.
Daily left Colorado for Tampa, where he launched WFUS/US 103.5 and spent 17 years with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia, eventually becoming SVP of Programming for Tampa and Sarasota. He later programmed WQYK/Tampa and KUBL/Salt Lake City. In 2024 Cumulus appointed him Brand and Content Manager of Nashville country stations WKDF and WSM-FM and subsequently Vice President of Country, advising the company’s country portfolio nationally.
