KAPI-FM was a Spanish-language radio station that began broadcasting in Pueblo, Colorado, on October 30, 1979, at 107.1 MHz. It was the FM sister station of KAPI-AM 690 and extended the AM service into evening hours.
History
KAPI-FM was built to carry the programming of KAPI-AM beyond the AM station’s operating hours. In 1981 both outlets changed their call signs to KRMX, retaining the AM and FM frequencies. The FM facility later went through additional call-sign and frequency changes and became part of the Pueblo market’s 106.9/107.1 station lineage. This entry records the KAPI-FM identity rather than the later call-sign periods.
