KCSJ-FM

KCSJ-FM was a brief call-sign era on Pueblo’s 97.9 FM facility, lasting from October 1978 until January 1979.

Historical context

The FM facility had signed on in 1975 as KDJQ with automated Top 40 programming. The short KCSJ-FM identity tied it by name to Pueblo’s heritage KCSJ 590 AM. In January 1979, the FM station became KCCY and began the long-running country identity associated with 97.9 and, later, 96.9.
