KFXF was licensed September 2, 1925 to Pikes Peak Broadcasting Co. in Colorado Springs, with William Duncan Pyle identified as the principal owner. The station was located at the Hagerman Building and was one of Colorado Springs’ earliest licensed broadcast outlets.
In 1927 KFXF moved from Colorado Springs to Denver. The call sign remained KFXF until 1934, when the station became KVOD; in 1958 that facility became KHOW 630. KFXF is preserved here as the historic identity of that early Colorado Springs-to-Denver lineage.

Catalog note: The 1927 state directory places KFXF in Colorado Springs, while the 1946 retrospective describes a KFFQ → KFUM → KFXF sequence associated with Pyle. These sources preserve different parts of the call-sign and location history; the exact transition dates and relationship among the early identities remain unresolved in the records reviewed here.
