KXXV was a call sign used on Colorado Springs’ 1530 AM station from 1977 to 1979. It was one of several identities in the history of the facility that later became KCMN and is now KQSC. This entry covers the KXXV period and does not represent a separate current station.
History
The 1530 AM facility began in 1964 as KRYT. It adopted KXXV in 1977, then changed to KKCS in 1979. Later it operated for many years as KCMN (1982–2015), followed by KKHI and KQSC. The sequence reflects call-letter changes on the same Colorado Springs AM facility; programming and ownership varied by period.
