Chuck Baker

Chuck Baker was a longtime Colorado Springs talk-radio personality best known for his work on KVOR.

Baker hosted the locally focused conservative talk program On the Carpet and became a prominent and sometimes controversial voice in Colorado Springs radio. His program drew national attention in the 1990s, while colleagues and community figures later remembered his willingness to challenge public officials and his strong interest in Colorado Springs and its residents.

Baker died in September 2017 at age 76.

Chuck Baker’s KVOR show enters national spotlight after White House shooting

Longtime KVOR afternoon talk host Chuck Baker temporarily left his six-year-old local program after intense national attention, hate mail and telephone calls following the October 29 White House shooting by Widefield resident Francisco Martin Duran. Rumors circulated that Duran had been influenced by Baker's program; Baker rejected that claim, and KVOR general manager Donn Seidholz denied that Baker had ever urged anyone to shoot President Clinton.
