Jason Janc

Jason Janc is a Southern Colorado radio manager, programmer and former on-air personality whose career has been closely tied to KILO and KRXP.

Janc began in radio as a college student in 1988 in Minnesota and Illinois and started his professional career in 1990 at WJBC and WWCT in Illinois, where he worked as an assistant production director and announcer.

He joined Bahakel Communications in Colorado Springs in 1998 as a KILO announcer. After Bahakel acquired KYZX, the station that became KRXP, Janc served as program director and announcer there until 2011. He then spent several years with Colorado Publishing Company, ultimately serving as director of advertising.

Bahakel brought Janc back in 2020 as general manager of KILO and KRXP, succeeding retiring general manager Virginia Swanson. He later held the VP/GM title for the two stations.

Jason Janc joins KILO

Jason Janc joined KILO as an announcer, beginning a long association with Bahakel's Colorado Springs radio operation.

1999

Bahakel buys KYZX, KGHF and KCSJ for $4.5 million

Pueblo Broadcasters sold KYZX, KGHF and KCSJ to Cy Bahakel's Colorado Springs Radio Broadcasters, owner of KILO, for $4.5 million. The deal created a direct ownership bridge between major Pueblo heritage stations and KILO's Colorado Springs operation.
