John Bartholomew

John Bartholomew was a Colorado Springs radio news director whose documented career crossed KRYT and KKFM.

The 1969 Broadcasting Yearbook lists Bartholomew as news director of KRYT 1530 in Colorado Springs.

By July 1975, the national rock-radio trade publication Walrus lists John Bartholomew as News Director of KKFM 96.5, alongside Program Director Michael Birdsong and Music Director Laura Janis. This contemporary listing confirms Bartholomew’s presence at KKFM during its progressive-rock era.

By 1960: KVOR operates from 512 S. Tejon Street

By 1960 — KVOR had moved from its earlier downtown hotel-era facilities to 512 S. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs. The 1960 Broadcasting Yearbook lists KVOR 1300 at that street address with Harrison Fuerst as president, John Hansen as general manager, Mac McKinnon as commercial manager, Paul Neisler as program director, John Bartholomew as news director and William Robson as chief engineer.
