COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Scott Thrower

Scott “Scruff” Thrower was a rock and CHR personality whose career included two documented periods at KKFM/Colorado Springs during the 1980s.

His preserved career chronology places him at KKFM in 1982, after KZZP/Phoenix. This put Thrower at the station during the early “96 Rock” period under Program Director Randy Sanders.

After later stops including KWK/St. Louis and KRXY/Denver, Thrower returned to KKFM. A September 21, 1984 Radio & Records report says Scott Thrower returned as KKFM morning man after a brief afternoon-drive stint at KEGL/Dallas. Contemporary aircheck advertising also documents a KKFM/Scott Thrower aircheck in early 1984.

His broader career included KGAY and KBZY/Salem, KBDF/Eugene, KMJK/Portland, KOPA and KZZP/Phoenix, KWK/St. Louis, KRXY/Denver, KMPZ/Memphis, WEGX/Philadelphia, KKFR/Phoenix, KCLX/San Diego, KKRZ/Portland, KTST/Oklahoma City and KURB/Little Rock.
