KIQN-FM

KIQN was the call sign used by a Pueblo-area FM facility from 2009 to 2014. It followed KNKN and preceded KLCX. The call letters identify one period in the history of the facility later known as KWRY; the programming and ownership changed as the station moved between commercial and noncommercial operation.

History

KIQN succeeded KNKN in 2009. During its KIQN years the station carried country programming. Educational Media Foundation acquired the facility, and in 2014 it adopted KLCX. Later, the call sign changed to KWRY and the station joined EMF’s Air1 service. The FCC call-sign record establishes the sequence; available sources do not provide a detailed day-by-day account of the KIQN format or programming schedule.
