KUBE-AM

The 1350 AM Pueblo facility is one of Southern Colorado’s oldest surviving radio lineages. It was authorized in the late 1920s and signed on as KGHF in 1928. Over nearly a century it has carried many call signs and formats, including Top 40, country, oldies, standards, talk and sports.

Call-sign lineage: KGHF (1928–1964) → KKAM (1964–1976) → KIDN (1976–1988) → KRYT (1988–1989) → KGHF (1989–2008) → KDZA (2008–2012) → KCCY (2012–2018) → KBPL (briefly in 2018) → KDZA (2018–2022) → KUBE.

The return of the KGHF calls from 1989 through 2008 included oldies-era programming. A 1997 Radio Business Report directory listed Greg Hargrove as program director. The station later cycled through country and talk-related identities before becoming KUBE with sports programming. KUBE operated as Fox Sports Pueblo 1350 and served as a flagship outlet for CSU Pueblo athletics. For the 2026–27 school year, iHeartMedia elected not to renew that university agreement, and CSU Pueblo moved its football, men’s and women’s basketball and coaches-show broadcasts to student-operated KTSC-FM/REV 89.5.

Paired / sister stations: In the modern iHeart era, the 1350 facility has been grouped with KCSJ, KCCY-FM, KVUU, KKLI, KIBT, KPHT and KBPL.
