KZKG was an early call sign assigned to the Colorado Springs–Pueblo FM facility that later became KYZX and KRXP. The available records associate KZKG with the station’s pre-launch phase; the station began broadcasting in 1993 as KYZX.
History
The planned FM facility was initially assigned KZKG call letters before adopting KYZX for its 1993 sign-on. Its later history included a frequency move from 104.5 to 103.9 MHz and a change in community of license to Pueblo West. In 2008, the station adopted KRXP and the alternative-rock brand “The Revolution.” KZKG is therefore documented as an early assignment in the facility’s history rather than a long-running on-air identity.
