KZNT-AM

KZNT 1460 AM / 101.1 FM “The Answer” is a conservative news-and-talk station serving Colorado Springs.

The 1460 AM facility signed on Dec. 21, 1956 as KAFA and became KYSN in 1958. KYSN developed into one of Colorado Springs’ major Top 40 stations and remained on the frequency until 1983.

The facility then cycled through KKHT, KKCS and briefly KWES. The KKCS years tied the AM closely to KKCS-FM and the “KCS” country brand, including periods of simulcasting. After a second long KKCS period, the station adopted the KZNT calls in 2003.

Today KZNT carries a conservative news/talk format under the AM 1460 / FM 101.1 The Answer branding. The FM signal is translator K266CK at 101.1 MHz. The FCC facility ID for the AM is 70825.
