KHOW (630 AM), branded Talk Radio 630 KHOW, is a commercial talk radio station licensed to Denver, Colorado. Its programming combines local and nationally syndicated talk shows, and the station serves the Denver metropolitan area. History
KHOW began broadcasting on September 2, 1925, as KFXF, licensed to Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company in Colorado Springs under principal owner William Duncan Pyle. It moved to Denver in 1927. The call sign changed to KVOD (“Voice of Denver”) in July 1934 and to KHOW on July 27, 1958. During the late 1970s, KHOW became known for personality-led talk programming, including Alan Berg’s on-air show, which began in 1978. The station later developed into a news and talk outlet with a mix of local and syndicated hosts.

KVOD 630 becomes KHOW
On July 27, 1958, Denver's 630 AM changed its call letters from KVOD to KHOW, establishing one of Denver radio's longest-lived call signs.
1969: Hal Moore moves to KHOW-AM
1969 — In 1969, Moore moved to KHOW-AM , where he also served as program director.
Hal Moore and Charley Martin team up on KHOW mornings
In 1976, Hal Moore and Charley Martin became the morning team on KHOW. Hal & Charley became one of Denver radio's best-known personality pairings and remained a major presence on the station for nearly two decades.
KHOW shifts to all-talk
In 1995, KHOW 630 moved from its longtime personality-driven adult contemporary/MOR approach to an all-talk format. The change ended the station's music-centered era.
1995: Charley Martin leaves KHOW-AM

Seven Denver stations consolidate into a new Tech Center complex
Jacor began planning a consolidated Denver Tech Center facility in October 1998 for KOA, KHOW, KTLK, KHIH, KRFX, KBPI and KTCL. The old studio lease expired in September 1999, creating a firm construction deadline. During the project, Clear Channel acquired Jacor.
2012: Michael Brown joins KHOW-AM
2012 — In 2012 he joined David Sirota on KHOW-AM for Sirota-Brown , an afternoon program pairing conservative and progressive viewpoints.
