Dick Bruce was part of the management team that guided a major format transition in Colorado Springs radio.
Contemporary Radio & Records coverage identified Bruce as the new station manager when album-rock KATM was sold to Salem Communications and relaunched as KGFT. The same report named Jason Hickman as operations manager. The change replaced KATM’s rock programming with the Christian teaching and talk service that became KGFT.
Bruce’s appearance in the trade press documents the business side of a significant local frequency change: the end of KATM’s AOR era and the beginning of KGFT’s long-running faith-based identity.
