COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Erin Brady

Erin Brady was a Colorado Springs morning-radio personality best documented as Jonathan Wilde’s co-host on KKMG 98.9 Magic FM’s Magic Morning Zoo in the early 1990s. Billboard reported in January 1992 that Wilde and Brady had previously worked together in mornings at WWMX/WGOR in Baltimore and had resurfaced at Top 40/dance KKMG in Colorado Springs, replacing Pete May. A September 1992 FMQB Colorado Springs market profile identifies the pair as KKMG‘s AM-drive Magic Morning Zoo. The station was then a Citadel-owned CHR led locally by general manager Bob Proffitt and program director Scooter B. Stevens, with Chris Baker serving as director of programming. Contemporary Radio & Records coverage preserved one of Wilde and Brady’s more unusual promotions: KKMG‘s Spam Weekend. Listeners were challenged to create sculptures from canned Spam, and Wilde and Brady judged entries including Baby Got Spam, a likeness of human buttocks, and Planetary Spam, a model of the solar system. The 1992 FMQB profile also shows KKMG performing especially strongly with younger listeners: the station ranked first in persons 18-34 in the Spring 1992 market snapshot. Later records document radio personalities named Erin Brady in Salt Lake City, including a KBEE morning co-host in 1998 and a KXRV morning announcer/newscaster in 2006. Because the surviving sources do not yet explicitly connect those records to the former WWMX/KKMG personality, the Colorado Radio Archive does not presently merge those later jobs into this biography.
