John Lambert was a longtime Colorado Springs radio manager associated with KYSN 1460 through multiple phases of the station's Top 40 era.
A detailed 1973 Starship Radio industry profile shows just how broad Lambert's responsibilities were: he was simultaneously listed as general manager, station manager and sales manager of KYSN. The same directory listed Gregor Vaule as program and music director, Hal Tatel as news director and Tom Little as chief engineer, placing Lambert at the head of the station's day-to-day business operation.
Lambert's tenure extended well beyond that snapshot. A 1980 industry station directory still listed him as KYSN's general manager. Top 40 trade advertising also directed prospective KYSN air talent to Lambert, showing that he participated directly in hiring and staffing the station.
Former KYSN personalities remembered Lambert warmly. Jon David Anderson, who worked nights at KYSN, later described Lambert as a “great manager” during the period when the station dominated youth-oriented radio in Colorado Springs.
