COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Kevin Godwin

Kevin Godwin is a radio executive whose career included leading Citadel Broadcasting’s Colorado Springs cluster in 2006-07 between two major management chapters in Boise, Idaho. Godwin began his radio career while attending Washington State University, working as an account executive and general sales manager for student-run KUGR-FM. The National Association of Broadcasters says he worked for Citadel Communications from 1994 to 2007. By the 2002-03 M Street directory, Godwin was general manager of Citadel’s Boise stations. A 2003 University of Idaho announcement identifies him as vice president and general manager of Citadel Communications’ six-station Boise cluster: KBOI-AM, KQFC-FM, KKGL-FM, KIZN-FM, KZMG-FM and KTIK-AM. In 2006 Citadel moved Godwin from Boise to Colorado Springs. Radio & Records/Country Aircheck coverage that summer identifies him as the Colorado Springs general manager and says he had recently been promoted to a Citadel regional vice president position after serving as Citadel/Boise market manager. His Colorado Springs responsibilities encompassed Citadel properties including KKFM, KKMG, KATC/Cat Country 95.1 and KVOR during a period of major change that included the launch of Cat Country on 95.1. Godwin’s Colorado Springs stay was comparatively brief. In 2007 he left Citadel and returned to Boise as a senior vice president/market manager of newly formed Peak Broadcasting, which acquired stations there as part of Citadel’s transaction connected with its ABC Radio acquisition. He subsequently became senior vice president of Peak Broadcasting; Townsquare Media acquired Peak in November 2013. Godwin continued with Townsquare and eventually became a senior vice president overseeing operations, business development and performance for the company’s West Region. In 2022 he was appointed to the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Board of Directors. Godwin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Washington State University.
