Tom Mulvey sold and managed radio across Denver for decades, turned KBTR into an all-news station, and later co-hosted a talk show for seniors.
Career
Mulvey worked in sales at KLZ, KTLN and KOA, then joined KHOW as sales manager in 1957 and went on to become its general manager. He later worked again at KLZ and at KLAK and KOSI, and as general manager of KBTR (today’s KNUS) he switched the station to all-news.
With Merrie Lynn McNabb he co-hosted a talk show for seniors that ran on KHOW, KEZW and KDEN. He also co-founded Media Memo magazine, created Colorado MAC News, taught broadcasting at Metro State, and served on the Littleton City Council as mayor pro tem. He was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Colorado Hall of Fame in 2009.
