Bryan Waters has had a long Southern Colorado broadcasting career spanning both on-air programming and broadcast engineering. By 2003 he was an air personality at KCCY; an August 2003 Airplay Monitor photo identifies Waters on the KCCY staff, and later industry reporting identifies him as the station’s Music Director and midday host when he exited.
Waters later became part of KATC/Cat Country 95.1. In October 2006, he replaced Jeff Zaiger on the station’s night shift. A 2009 Colorado Springs Gazette event identified him on the KATC team with Alisha Scott and Jim West.
His career increasingly moved into engineering and technical operations. By 2013, Waters was IT Manager/Assistant Engineer for Cumulus Colorado Springs, where he helped modernize the cluster’s remote-broadcast systems. He subsequently became Chief Engineer for KILO and KRXP. In a 2017 Radio World article written under his own byline, Waters described engineering the stations’ Cheyenne Mountain transmission and STL systems while serving as Chief Engineer for Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House and KILO/KRXP.
A 2009 Colorado Springs Gazette community event identified Waters as part of the KATC on-air team with Alisha Scott and Jim West. Their group received the event’s “Most Engaging Team” recognition.
