Mike Knar was vice president/general manager of Citadel Broadcasting’s Colorado Springs cluster from 2007 through the 2011 Cumulus takeover. Period station directories list Knar as GM of Citadel stations including KKFM, KKMG, KKML, KKPK and KVOR, and 2009 reporting identifies him as Citadel Broadcasting of Colorado Springs general manager during the launch of the Sports Animal on 1300 AM. After Cumulus acquired Citadel in 2011, Knar left the cluster and moved into local ownership. He and his wife Lori founded Southern Colorado Radio/SoCo Radio, beginning with KFEZ 101.3 in late 2012 and later expanding to multiple Southern Colorado signals and management agreements.
