  • Gregor Vaule

Gregor Vaule was the guy running the show at KYSN in the early ’70s. If you were a Colorado Springs teenager with 1460 AM on in the morning, you were probably listening to him.

    Top 40 on 1460

By September 1972, Gregor was music director at KYSN. A 1973 industry directory shows his role had grown: he was listed as both program director and music director, working under general manager John Lambert, with Hal Tatel directing news.

Former KYSN staffers also remember Gregor as the station’s morning personality. That meant he was picking the music, overseeing the programming and sitting in the chair during morning drive.

    Hiring the air staff

Gregor was still the one to call if you wanted a Top 40 job at KYSN into the mid-’70s. Classified ads in November 1974 and in January and July 1975 told applicants to contact him directly.
